The Book, The Burial, by R. Penman Smith is available through Amazon, Barnes and Noble, and directly from Tate Publishing. The Burial is a Spiritual Thriller with a dark twist and a redemptive outcome. The story springs out personal experience; ‘write what you know about’. Those who are comfortable with fantasy and are not afraid of the reality of the spiritual warfare inherent in Christian life will love this book.

Imagination is the faculty through which we discover the world around us, both the world we see, and that other unseen world that hovers on the fringe of sight. Love, joy and laughter, poetry and prose, are the gifts through which we approach that complex world. Through the gift of imagination we have stepped into an ever flowing river where the realm of Faerie touches Middle Earth.

I Celebrate Thy Love, My Love

I celebrate thy love, my love,
Belov’d, I ever would be thine.
Love is a gift from heaven’s dove
For hearts sublime or serpentine.
In human hearts born from above
Sublime and serpentine entwine.
Hearts are cleansed by the grace of love
When true love and faith intertwine.

In Dante’s Divine Comedy it is the beauty of Beatrice that leads to the Vision of Mary and through her to her son, the Son of Love. So also our human loves are fraught with Divine Light and through the love of faithful wife and husband shines the Glory of the God who is Love Himself. Love in the complexity of marriage relationships is an altar for sanctification, a school for prayer, and an holy sanctuary for deep joy and heart satisfaction. Each of us is the cross on which our beloved is stretched. Through mutual self-surrender new life springs forth and the radiance of the Face of Love shines through us, even us. Love himself is incarnate in the love we have for one another.
