When confronted by a silly young thing who said that “It didn't matter what she wore; if a man looking at her lusted after her, it was his problem,” Granny Wimple said, “Modesty is a virtue, and a difficult one for the children of the world.”

The young woman retorted, “When I hear the word ‘modesty’ I think of misogyny, some people just dislike women. We should appreciate our beauty.”

“Really dear?” said Granny Wimple. “If you think it’s all the man’s problem, perhaps you suffer from ‘misandry,’ the hatred of men?”

“Then Granny Wimple added, “Once upon a time I was what you call ‘beautiful’, but physical beauty fades, and only the inner beauty will endure.”
